Well this evening the arms are pretty sore. Spent a wonderful day helping out one of the family friends on his farm. My job was to open the gates to let cows in to get there shots and well…. I guess you could say lose there bull hood. Must have lifted those gates close to a hundred times. Arms and hands aren’t used to that. Had a wonderful time though. We had great time fellowshiping with each other. Even was able to witness a small calf that thought it was a deer. Shot out of the shoot like it had it’s backside on fire. Broke through the cattle gate like it was a toothpick. It was funny and amazing at the same time. Makes a person wonder how they did this 100 years ago. Without the shoots and cages. Must have been a tough job to boot. Something amazing in doing farm work though. It’s peaceful in a strange way. Not sure why, but sure makes a person more relaxed. Maybe that’s why farmers live longer than most. I must put a big shout out to Farmer Tom for asking me come again. I know that  you don’t have to.

I’ve never been around farm work until I met Tom. So when he asks me to help. He’s asking a person that doesn’t have a clue at all on how to do things. I am learning though. I guess it’s a pay back in a way. I taught him some church stuff. So in return he’s taught me farming stuff. I would have never gotten the chickens or goats before. If wasn’t from Tom helping me out. Sure can’t wait to get back to that. Well maybe not the goats part. To stubborn of an animal.

The thing is. That most people complain about there jobs. Which is 5 days a week. Around 40 hours a week. With most jobs being inside with A.C. and heat. Farmers don’t have that luxury. They work 24hrs a day. 7 days a week. They work in the rain, heat, cold, wind, and dust. They don’t have a desk and comfortable chair. They have an old truck or tractor. You have people to talk to about your problems. They have cattle or there crops. Now isn’t it unfair for us to complain about our jobs. When they aren’t tough jobs at all. If you need your eyes opened up on how easy your jobs are. Go work on a farm for a day or week. I bet you’ll enjoy your job even more. Farmers sure don’t get the congratulations that they deserve. Here we eat the food that they work so hard to produce, and we don’t even think about them at all. I for one. Thank all farmers for what you endure. Thanks for not giving up during the bad times. My hat comes off to you.!!!!! Thank you God for making special people to do the jobs they do. It sure takes a special person to be able to do farm work. Here’s picture for you Tom.thumbnailCASAVMRQ
